ABOUT US

Many years ago, our founding member and past president Jim Parish established the Halfmoon Lake Association (HMLA) to address  “major lake issues that affect your property value, safety, and the peaceful conditions we all came here to enjoy.” That was in 1966 when the HMLA formed to advocate for the interests of property owners. Today, the HMLA continues to serve and protect its property owners with the primary goals of enhancing property value and recreational opportunity while preserving the water quality of our lake.

We have two business meetings a year, as directed by our bylaws, once during July and then again in August. A guest speaker typically attends the August meeting. Please join us at these meetings to meet neighbors, stay informed, and contribute to the overall goals of our association.

Some of your Association’s current activities include:

  • Working closely with the NH Department of Environmental Services to monitor water quality and invasive weed control.

  • Monitoring and communicating to the members any safety or environmental dangers that arise.

  • Overseeing and monitoring a loon nesting program.

  • Maintaining the dam separating Halfmoon Lake from Locke Lake.

  • Sponsoring the annual Labor Day weekend Boat Parade.

  • Maintaining the Lake Association website: HalfmoonlakeNH.com where you will be informed about news concerning the lake.

Membership Information:

Membership in the HMLA is an affirmative step in expressing support for your fellow members and also expresses support to the volunteers who contribute their time and talents to the organization's success. We welcome your energy and new thinking too!  A vibrant membership base enables us to meet any potential challenge to the lake. Consider joining one of our teams or serving on the board. Current annual dues are $20 ( Dues Form.)
